Of course we have a wide variety of search engines these days..Can we think of our technical life without a search machine, Google, yahoo!, and MSN live comes us with all latest technologies including AJAX. As one of my small experiment I did and I am going to share it with you all ..I dont know how I perfect..

Step 1: Words comparison..

I would like to mention a keyword by keyword comparison I made...

Configurations
=============

  1. intel pentium 4 1.7
  2. 512 Kbps shared

Keyword : hello

  1. Google: about 414,000,000 for hello. (0.09 seconds)
  2. Yahoo : 420,000,000 for hello - 0.23s
  3. MSN :  30,213,157 results in greater time

Keyword : World

  1. Google - 0.22 seconds to for 1,180,000,000 pages
  2. Yahoo - 0.26 seconds to for 3,540,000,000 pages
  3. MSN Live - 0.35 seconds to for 487,988,046 pages

Note: This results may vary according to the browser cache and all..but will be proportional.

As the second phase let me explain some of the major features these search engines provided with..

Google

    *Limited searching feature for boolean keys
*Has a built in powerful calculator which is useful to calculate numbers, measurements, currencies, etc
*Algorithm never fails..
*Field keys: intitle:, inurl:, allintitle:, link:, define:, allinurl:, site:, allinanchor:, related:, numrange:, pricerange, flink:
*Search API gives back to the comminity.
*Certainly some useful tools like bookmarking and ads.

Yahoo Search
* Better Boolean Searching than google for AND, OR, NOT,( ), -
* Field keys: intitle:, site: or domain:, hostname:, link:, linkdomain:, url:, inurl:, originurlextension:, feature:acrobat, feature:applet, feature:activex, feature:audio, feature:flash, feature:form, feature:frame, feature:homepage, feature:image, feature:index, feature:javascript, feature:meta, feature:script, feature:shockwave, feature:table, feature:video, feature:vrml will work perfectly..
* Yahoo has a good look and functioning.

MSN Live Search

* Infinite boolean search feature
* Field keys: site:,filetype:,intitle:,inbody:,inanchor:,inurl:,language:,loc:,link:,linkdomain:,linkfromdomain:,contains:,ip:,prefer:,feed:,hasfeed:,url:
* Calculator is insufficient and poor.
* look is good

From this we can see that field search is powerful in yahoo!

Conclusion
SO we have some analytics here. These simple things give hints that Google has more control over their search technology and their programmers/QA seem to be working more seriously than Yahoo and MSN.

Also I dont want peoples just to come a read this articles, just reply to this as how they are feeling..its all are my opinions and calculations that may not be in the road always..
